Scenic Hike and Float Tour

This active tour combines sightseeing and rafting.  First enjoy a beautiful 10-mile drive along the coast to the Dyea valley, an old Gold Rush settlement now returned to nature and within the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. On the drive you may spot porpoise, seals, and eagles.  You will then hike one-way approximately 1.8 miles on the historical Chilkoot trail where you will meet up with your rafts to relax as you enjoy the tranquil nature of the Taiya River.  Your guide will point out wildlife, native plants and tell stories of the area's fascinating history as you float down the gentle Taiya River.  We also stop at the Skagway scenic overlook for a panoramic view of the town (time permitting).  It is suitable for all ages, should be in good physical condition, and bring sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots.
