Yukon Horseback
Riding Adventure Tours
There is no
better way to experience the peace and tranquility of the great northern
wilderness than on
horseback.
Pack your camera...Traveling from Skagway to the Yukon, you will see...
1) The beautiful Skagway River Valley, White Pass Summit area, Tormented
Valley, and the crystal clear watershed of the Yukon River.
2) The majestic lakes and mountains of northwestern British Columbia and
southwestern Yukon Territory.
3) The world's smallest desert at Carcross, Yukon.
4) The spectacular colors of Emerald Lake.
At the Emerald Lake Corral you will meet your tour guide Joni MacKinnon. Joni
was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon. She has been a licensed hunting,
fishing, horseback and wildlife photography tour guide for over 20 years. She
was the first female president of the Yukon Fish and Game Association. After
saddling up you will ride over high country trails as Joni relates the
hardships that the "Cheechakos", or newcomers, had to face in the Yukon.
Along the way you will be able to scan the sides of Caribou Mountain and Grey
Ridge for sheep, moose, caribou, black and grizzly bear. Although sightings
are not guaranteed, they are likely. Continuing through the backcountry, you
will arrive at the Emerald Lake Corral and head down to the "cookhouse" to
enjoy snacks and a beverage with your tour guides. After snacks and
chatting with your tour guide, you will head back to Skagway with photos to
keep, memories to hold and tales to tell of this spectacular Yukon experience
that you will cherish for a lifetime.
