Gold Dredge & Gold Panning Tour

This two hour tour, you will be entertained with an historical introduction, then you will view a 10 minute historical video which previews gold dredge mining technology.  Your experienced guide will then whisk you away on a 30 minute guided tour of an authentic gold dredge.  After you learn why thousands had gold fever, you will have a 30 minute opportunity to pan for gold.  After panning for gold you will have 20 minutes to weigh your gold and to browse the displays.  ***Note: Arrive before scheduled departures, because tours will start on time.

Note: Guests who take Skagway Municipal and Regional Transport shuttle buses will be refunded shuttle costs at the Dredge. 
Note: There are approximately 215 yards of walking and 34 steps during this tour. The tour is accessible by wheelchair (including going to the bottom of the dredge and a panning trough that has been designed for participants in wheelchairs). The majority of the tour is combined with the whole group until they go up the first set of stairs. At this point, a separate guide does the bottom tour, which meets up with the group again as they come down off the dredge. The rest of the tour and gold panning is done as a combined group.

Gold panning ONLY: 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM,  2:30 PM and 3:00 PM, with an additional tour for June, July and August at 2:00 PM
